Melissa Tobey LaBelle
Director of Youth Ministry
Melissa Tobey LaBelle has served as a volunteer youth leader for approximately seven years at St. Mark’s and is pleased to officially join the staff of the parish this fall as the part-time Director of Youth Ministry. She enjoys serving the middle school and high school youth of the parish and is very excited to have a team of seven caring, committed adult volunteers to partner with her on the youth leadership team this year. Melissa’s big passion is getting to know middle school and high school teens, supporting them, and helping them see how God interacts with them in their every day lives. She is also a huge fan of the annual summer youth mission trips!
Melissa holds a BA in French from Wheaton College (IL) and a Master’s degree in Modern Foreign Language Education from Boston University. She is currently finishing her doctorate in Literacy and Language Education at Boston University. She has served in the past as a middle school and high school French teacher, French Club advisor, and track and cross-country coach. She has also worked at a Christian girls’ summer camp as a counselor. In church settings in CT, MA, and CO, Melissa has served over the years as a youth leader, Vacation Bible School Director, Christian Education Director, youth group volunteer, confirmation mentor, Bible study leader, lector, and Sunday school teacher.
