Responding to COVID-19
Looking for ways to connect with others from St. Mark’s? Want to know how you can help?
Youth Group Sunday Brunch
Calling all 6-12 graders! Grab your favorite breakfast items and your laptop or smartphone and join us for conversation and more each Sunday at 11am! We’ll likely continue our “Alpha Series” video and then a chance to check in.
On Sunday, click this link, and follow the instructions to join us!
We’ll also have virtual gatherings on Wednesdays! Check your email about timing—if we watch a film together the conversation will be later, but if we’re just hanging out it may be earlier!
Have a 6th-12th grader not getting updates? Email Melissa at firstname.lastname@example.org or send her a text: 508-596-2885.
Want to Learn More About the Current Situation?
Parishioners Matt and Laura Moreau share this message: “Laura and I would like to reach out to offer our time for anyone wanting to know more about the current outbreak. As scientists with expertise in infectious diseases, we want to let everyone know they can contact us with questions or, if they wish, could set a day and time to meet on Facebook or on Skype or other media platforms. It is important to Laura and me that we make available the most of ourselves that we can. This is a unique case that we are very well qualified to help with knowledge and information on a topic where there is so much information changing so often. Sometimes being able to quell angst just by shedding light on a dark subject can go a long way.” Reach Matt at: email@example.com
Need Calls or Want to Make Calls?
During this time as we’re physically distant from one another, we have a chance to go old school and make phone calls!
Perhaps you’d like to receive a regular call from someone in our parish. Or maybe you want to make calls to brighten someone’s day. Either way, reach out to our parish manager Anne Miller at firstname.lastname@example.org and let her know! We want to be sure we each feel connected during this time.
Additionally, an updated parish directory is available here!
Assisting Healthcare Workers
Parishioners Nicole and Nick Tolan, who work with Brigham and Women’s Hospital, share the following message: “It would be fantastic if families would be willing to help by making masks/covers and or donate to support our front-line healthcare workers. The need is great and growing. People can reach out to Nicole directly (email@example.com) or visit https://www.brighamandwomens.org if they have questions or wish to offer support.”
Showing Love to Those Who Need it Most
Many have asked about ways to support those in need at this time, and especially those in our own parish community. You can do a number of things:
1) Make donations to the Rector’s Discretionary Account. Check’s made out to St. Mark’s RDF will go directly to assisting those in need in our community who are facing job or food insecurity at this time. Mail them in to us at the church office.
2) Make donations to the Southborough Food Pantry. Click here to find their most current needs.
3) Our diocese is receiving contributions for a Covid-19 Emergency Relief Fund. This fund is for parishes and individuals who may be suffering a loss of income. Donate online.
